I'm not going to sit here and act like I'm part of the Beyhive or Beyoncé's biggest fan (don't get me wrong, sis has a plethora of bangers), but baby, when I tell you I was crying like I was when she won that award… whew. I am so proud of her. Seeing her accept that award made me tear up. I feel like she won that award on behalf of all Black people from all diasporas. We have been erased from so much of our history, and we are slowly reclaiming it.
It made me think of this verse
Genesis 15:13-14
13 And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;
14 And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.
