WHAT PEOPLE WEAR
8/1/20244 min read
Hey everyone! So, I recently took a trip to Boston,I wanted to see what people who listen to Faye Webster are wearing these days. As I arrived, I noticed a line of amazingly dressed people, waiting for the gates to open. It was super hot, which left me SHOOKETH at how effortlessly stylish everyone looked despite the heat. White tiered skirts and Sambas were everywhere—But here's the thing, everyone had their own unique twist on these trendy pieces. It felt like a lesson in how to follow trends yet still look uniquely yourself.
I don't understand why some people get so worked up about trends...
Okay, quick rant: So the other day, I finally got around to making a post about sambas for Tik Tok and Lemon8, which was inspired by this trip to Boston. The comments on Lemon8 were like "be original", "everybody wore these in middle school", "It was already a trend" (There was more, but they were deleted or blocked. Not because of difference of opinion, but I'm not going to allow disrespect. Especially over a pair of shoes!) Just because you knew they were trending or around already, doesn't mean the whole world knows. I am 29 and I just found out about these two years ago, and I just saw the extreme rise of them recently. Like there's nothing wrong with tapping into a trend and being apart of it. If you genuinely like something that's trending, Go for it! As long as you're being true to yourself, and genuinely like it or even you just want to test it out. There should be no problem. Trends are a part of fashion. They come in and out, and they give everyone a chance to experiment and express themselves in new ways.
Boston's Unexpected Style
Back to Boston. I have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised. The city isn't exactly on the top of my 'fashion capitals' list, but wow, the people here had a great sense of style. Every single outfit (even the ones I didn't get to capture) were so nice and put together no matter how simple or "basic". They were all still a look. Seeing how Faye Webster’s music influences their style was truly inspiring.
Until next time
